History
Mayekawa started our business with ice manufacturing and cold storage business. Ever since its foundation in 1924, we have always identified itself in the context of the 'environment that enables the company operate'. By promoting collaborative creation with elements constituting the environment, Mayekawa has solved many problems and in turn developed itself.

Kisaku Maekawa founded Mayekawa & Co. in Tokyo, Japan.
1930
Started ice making and cold storage business.
1934
Started production of industrial vertical low speed reciprocating compressors.
1937
Changed corporate name to Mayekawa Manufacturing Co., Ltd. In Tokyo.
1958
Developed high-speed multi cylinder single-stage reciprocating compressor 'A Series'.

Developed high-speed multi cylinder compound type two-stage reciprocating compressor.
1960
Delivered fully automatic control system for liquid pump recirculation system for large scale cold storage.
1961
Delivered 12 sets of 100 ton/day meat freezing and 12,000 ton of cold storage plants complete with liquid pump recirculation systems to the former USSR. The annual production was 50 units at that time; however, only in a year after the contract, as many as 156 units of refrigeration compressor were manufactured. This project marked a significant milestone for Mayekawa's further growth.

Installed the first ammonia liquid pump recirculation refrigeration system for a 7000ton cold storage in Japan.

Established MAYEKAWA's first overseas subsidiary company, MAYEKAWA DE MEXICO S.A. in Mexico.

1980s
- With a worldwide increase in the production volume of petrochemical products, the gas compressor increasingly advanced into some industrial fields. Mayekawa developed almost all kinds of process gas compression technologies applicable to processes in chemical companies.
- In Canada, MYCOM compressors dominated Ice Arena application.
- Mayekawa also made a rapid advancement into the industrial refrigeration market in Asia together with the marine products processing companies advancing into the Southeast Asia markets, in which, the shrimp and seafood businesses are flourishing.

Delivered to the PTT Public Company Ltd. in Thailand, the screw compressor for vapor recovery for the use of offshore oil platforms.

- Global warming has been accelerated. In order to realize the sustainable society, with the five natural refrigerants: ammonia, carbon dioxide (CO2), air, water, and hydrocarbons (HC) named as "Natural Five", we developed the several cooling systems suitable for required temperatures and applications.
- Contributed to the industrial fields other than the refrigeration industry with our unique components and engineering technologies, such as development and delivery of the dedicated robots for automated deboning chicken and pork, etc.
