Global trade in perishable cargo set to grow
Despite of this global economical downturn, the world trade in perishable cargo which requires the refrigeration is expected to grow by nearly 15% to over 200 million tons by 2015, of which approx. 50 percent of them as much as more than 100 million tons will be seaborne.
However, apart from container ships, the specialized reefer carrier fleets, main seaborne vessels to carry refrigerated food stuffs, are expected to shrink from 35.5 million tons in 2007 to 32.0 million tons in 2015.
World growing consumption of seafood
As safe and healthy diet, the world consumption of seafood has been on a rise significantly and this trend is expected to continue.
While there is necessity to meet this growing demand for marine products in the world, calls for the controlled amount of catching sea creatures by the fishing vessels, not to eventually destruct the marine resources have been ever growing as well.
Refrigeration system for refrigerated carrier vessel or reefer
We, Mayekawa Mfg. Co., Ltd. has been contributing to meet the growing demand of perishable cargo trade by supplying our wide range of suitable refrigeration equipment for the specialized reefer carriers with the state-of-the-art technology to maintain best quality of foodstuffs transported by ocean shipping.
And our dedication in building new specialized reefer carriers is open-ended.
Refrigeration system for fishing vessel
In order to produce or maintain best quality of frozen foods, reliable, superior performance and environmentally friendly refrigeration system is required.
To meet this requirement, we have been offering various kinds of system and equipment associated with our energy efficient reciprocating and screw compressors.
PSA nitrogen generating system
Besides the refrigeration systems, our PSA nitrogen generating system for LPG and chemical tankers is one of our main products offered for the marine market.
Utilizing a new carbonate absorber made of special phenol resin, our PSA nitrogen generating system achieves a low electric consumption and compact design with high noise reduction arrangement required for the marine application.
MGO cooling system
In order to meet the global regulation to limit the air pollution from the contents of sulfur level in the marine fuel oil, we are supplying our unique MGO cooling system inherited from the refrigeration technique dedicated to the specialized reefer carriers for more than 40 years.
Our sophisticated fully automatic, very reliable and compact system is best suited for the MGO cooling system as well and second to non in performance.
