Mission

Mayekawa's mission is to ensure food safety, taste, quality, affordability, and stable supply by providing a variety of technologies that are labor-efficient, add high-value , facilitate new-product development, save energy, and are environmentally friendly.

In the energy field, we are endeavoring to create a 21st century model energy society through innovations in refrigeration technology, energy saving technology, non-freon technology, and CO2 reduction technology.

Our approach

Mayekawa will achieve this mission through our proven unique three-tier approach.

The first tier is called ‘Basho’ meaning place. By finding the most appropriate ‘Basho’; the place where the fundamental problem lies and the work field where both the customer and Mayekawa engineers must collaborate without boundaries of functionality and interests. Both parties firstly must jointly find the most appropriate Basho. Through this Basho-finding process, we will be deeply involved in the customer's manufacturing process, and will create ‘cooperation’ to share and synthesize our knowledge and understandings while developing new products and solutions.

Cooperation is the second key factor of our approach. The third element is ‘Suriawase’ or integration. Only in the cooperation on a right Basho, we are able to build trust and integrate ‘sense-based tacit knowledge’ which belongs to each engineer's deep heart and mind, but thus is pivotal to develop unique and creative products and/or solutions ? rather than simply combining ready-made modules and explicit knowledge.

It requires much time to fully implement these three principles. But Mayekawa will replace the time to be used up for unproductive price competition and/or trivial and superficial modification of existing things, by the time for our approach. We believe only with this approach we can achieve our mission and contribute to our 21st century society, and will establish the unique position that is independent from other competitors and achieve ‘habitat-segregation’ in our industry.
